There are activities at the Evergeen State Fairgrounds all year 'round, and the bus can get you there!
Community Transit Route 270 and Route 275 stop at the Monroe Park & Ride at the end of the fairgrounds parking lot. During the Evergreen State Fair, these routes serve a special stop near the west entrance of the fair.
The 2014 Evergreen State Fair runs from Aug. 21 - Sept. 1. Community Transit runs regular service Monday-Saturday on these routes. Be sure to check the route schedules as mid-day and Saturday service is different than weekday peak-hour service.
Community Transit buses do not operate on Sundays or Labor Day.
Service to and from Everett
Between Everett and Monroe, there is a Route 270 or Route 275 bus every 30 minutes on weekday mornings and evenings, and hourly service in the middle of the day. The last bus to Everett leaves the fairgrounds at 8:43 p.m.
On Saturdays, Route 275 between Everett and Monroe runs every hour starting at 7:05 a.m. The last trip to Everett leaves the fairgrounds at 6:09 p.m.
Check the Bus Plus schedule book or online schedules for all trip times.
Service to and from Gold Bar
Between Gold Bar and Monroe, there is a Route 270 bus every hour on weekday mornings and evenings, and every 90 minutes in the middle of the day. In the mid-day, Route 270 ends at Highway 2 and Chain Lake Rd. about one mile east of the fairgrounds. Riders can transfer to Route 275 to complete their trip to the fair. The last bus to Gold Bar leaves the fairgrounds at 7:45 p.m.
On Saturdays, Route 270 runs every 90 minutes starting at 8:23 a.m. On Saturdays, Route 270 ends at Highway 2 and Chain Lake Rd. The last bus to Gold Bar leaves Chain Lake Rd. at 6:22 p.m. To catch that last bus to Gold Bar, riders must leave the fairgrounds on Route 275 at 5:36 p.m.
Check Bus Plus or online schedules for all trip times.
Taking the bus to the fairgrounds is cheaper than a funnel cake - and less fattening, too! Pay local fare when you ride a bus to the fairgrounds -- $2 for adults, $1.50 for kids ages 6-18 and $1 for people with a reduced fare (senior, disabled, Medicare).
If you are planning to transfer between buses, the best value is to use an ORCA card, which will transfer the value of your first trip onto other buses for up to two hours. Community Transit no longer issues paper transfers, so cash-paying customers will need to pay full fare for each bus they board. ORCA cards may be purchased online at www.orcacard.com and in person at Everett Station or at most Safeway and QFC stores.
