Trip Planner, Bus Plus Books Ready

Rider Alert

Community Transit's online Trip Planner is available to plan trips for Feb. 20 or later. Bus service information has been updated to include all the changes that will take place on Feb. 20.

Also, Bus Plus schedule books are on board buses so you can review the new schedules and route maps at your convenience. The new route schedules have been online since early January, but many riders have been waiting for the Bus Plus books. Please take only one book for your use to help keep costs down.

All agencies in King, Pierce and Snohomish counties share bus schedule and route data for use in our online Trip Planner, so if your trip involves a transfer across agencies, that information will be presented. The Trip Planner does not have Washington State Ferries information, nor Island Transit or Skagit Transit information.

Community Transit’s online Trip Planner is one of the most popular features of our website. Because we know it is so important, we are constantly working to improve it. When you plan a trip online you can:

See a map of your trip, and zoom in to view streets and all bus stops along the way.

Start typing a location and get suggestions on matching landmarks.

See a list of popular landmarks and plan a trip to or from that location.

Bookmark a trip so you can use the same locations again.

Please send feedback about the trip planner to webmaster@commtrans.org.

MLT Freeway Station Elevators Down

Rider Alert

Due to a power interruption, the elevators at the Mountlake Terrace Transit Center Freeway Station are out of service until further notice.

Supervisors will direct passengers who need to use the freeway station but cannot use the stairs.

Community Transit and Sound Transit buses to Seattle also operate out of the Lynnwood Transit Center (LTC), just four miles to the north. Customers who typically use the Mountlake Terrace Freeway Station to get to and from downtown Seattle should consider using Lynnwood Transit Center.

Local Route 130 runs between Mountlake Terrace and LTC every 30 minutes all day. Use our online Trip Planner to help plan your trip, or call (425) 353-RIDE (7433) for assistance.

Inclement Weather

Rider Alert

Snow and icy conditions could impact your transit service. Community Transit makes every effort to maintain both safety and bus service, as well as to communicate with our customers. Please check our website at www.communitytransit.org before you leave to see the latest service information. Often, conditions may change from earlier forecasts.

In snowy or icy conditions, buses may be delayed or detoured. Community Transit has an electronic alerts system that allows people to be notified via email or text whenever major impacts occur. You can sign up based on the bus routes you ride and also by park & ride.

Rider Alerts and our website are updated regularly whenever weather-related reroutes or system-wide delays impact our system. On weekdays, we post changes by 5 a.m. and afternoon updates by 2 p.m., as well as regular updates throughout the day as needed. A forecast for the start of service the following day is posted by 8 p.m. Please be aware that in bad road conditions, service may be very limited. We do our best to allow you to make plans in advance.

Please keep these things in mind:

Get to a park & ride or other major hub for the best service options.

Snow or wind damage in one area may cause delays elsewhere in our system.

During icy conditions, a bus will not stop on a hill. Make sure you wait for the bus on level ground and wait until it stops completely before approaching it.

Make sure you are visible to the coach operator. Carry a flashlight or something reflective to use for flagging the bus and wear light or bright outerwear.

Dress warmly and wear sturdy footwear. You may need to wait longer or walk more in poor conditions.
