				<title>Seattle Holiday Parade Nov. 28</title>
				<description>Rider Alert</description>
				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The Macy's Holiday Parade on Friday, Nov. 28 in Downtown Seattle will reroute buses off Fourth Avenue between 8 a.m. and noon.</p>
<p>Routes 406, 412, 413, 414, 416, 417, 421, 425, 435 and Sound Transit Routes 510 and 511 will be affected.</p>
<p>During the parade, buses will operate on Third Avenue and serve stops at Third &amp; Union (near side) and Third &amp; Pine (far side).</p>
<p>In adition to msising all stops on Fourth Avenue north of Seneca, stops at Olive &amp; Fifth and Olive &amp; Eighth may be missed.</p>]]></content:encoded>

				<title>Swift Breaks Ground Dec. 3</title>
				<description>Rider Alert</description>
				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><span style="font-size: 16pt"><span style="font-size: 16pt">The <i>Swift </i>groundbreaking event takes place at 11 a.m. Dec. 3 in the southwest corner of the Home Depot parking lot, at the corner of Hwy. 99 and Airport Road in Everett. The public is welcome to attend.</span></span></p>
<p>A contractor will begin work at the new <i>Swift </i>station on northbound Hwy. 99 &amp; Airport Road that same day.</p>
<p>Work at that stop will include a right-lane closure and sidewalk closure. However, the bus stop will remain open and pedestrians will be escorted around construction by a flagger during the day. At night, sidewalks will be ramped and reopened to pedestrians. </p>

				<title>Route 119 Delays Possible</title>
				<description>Rider Alert</description>
				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The City of Lynnwood is doing major construction work on Olympic View Drive from 168th Street SW south to 76th Avenue W. The current phase of work is from 168th to 178th Place. Work is taking place from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays.</p>
<p>Community Transit Route 119 is expected to remain on regular route during construction. However, buses may be delayed.</p>
<p>If delays become too long or too frequent, alternative routing will be considered.</p>]]></content:encoded>

				<title>Thanksgiving Service Changes Nov. 27-28</title>

				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><font size="3">On Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, Nov. 27, all services will operate on Sunday schedules. </font><span style="font-size: 12pt">Community Transit&rsquo;s Customer Information Services phone lines and the RideStore will be closed. </span></p>

<div style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt"><span style="font-size: 12pt">Service to the University of Washington and U-District will be limited to Route 855 from Lynnwood Transit Center only. All other <b>800 routes </b>are cancelled for the day.</span></div>

<div style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt"><span style="font-size: 12pt">Also, due to expected low ridership, some <b>Route 400s</b> commuter trips to downtown Seattle will be cancelled. Commuter trips that will not operate on Nov. 28 are marked on bus schedules with the letter &ldquo;H.&rdquo; </span></div>

				<title>Railroad Work Detour in Edmonds</title>

				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Effective Thursday, Oct. 23</p>
<p>Due to emergency repair work by Burlington Northern on the railroad crossing at Dayton Avenue, all Edmonds buses will be rerouted&nbsp;from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.&nbsp;today, Oct. 23.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>
<p><b>Community Transit Routes 110, 1140, 115, 116, 131, 404 and 870 </b>will not serve the stop on Dayton near Harbor Square. All other stops in downtown Edmonds will be served, however, please expect delays due to the reroute.</p>
<p>For passengers who usually board or deboard at Harbor Square, the closest stops served nearby are at eastbound Dayton at Second Avenue and at the senior center at southbound Railroad Avenue.</p>]]></content:encoded>

<p>The most up-to-date schedule information is posted at every bus stop and can always be found on this website or by calling Customer Information.</p>
<p>Bus riders already show they care about the environment by sharing the ride. Help us save a few more resources (including taxpayer money) by conserving Bus Plus books as well.</p>

				<title>Ash Way Shelter Upgrades</title>

				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Community Transit is working to improve and expand passenger shelters at Ash Way Park &amp; Ride.</p>
<p>Already, a shelter has been installed at Bay 2, served by local buses.</p>
<p>Existing shelters at Bays 1 and 3, installed in 1995, will be replaced with new shelters that will provide more covered waiting area for passengers.</p>
<p>Bay 3 shelters will be removed on Saturday, Nov. 1 and replaced on Sunday, Nov. 2. Bay 3 is served by buses to the eastside (ST Express 532) and the University District (800s)</p>
<p>Bay 1 shelters will be removed on Saturday, Nov.&nbsp;8 and replaced on Sunday, Nov. 9.</p>

Good news for UW commuters. The University of Washington&rsquo;s award-winning transportation program, U-PASS, has welcomed Pierce Transit, Kitsap Transit and Everett Transit as partners to offer region-wide bus service for U-PASS holders. <br />

				<title>Route 230 Bus Plus Correction</title>
				<description>Rider Alert</description>
				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>&nbsp;In the Local Bus Plus books effective Sept. 21, 2008, the weekday <a href="http://www.commtrans.org/BusService/Schedule.cfm?route=230">Route 230</a> trip from Darrington to Smokey Point at 4:22 p.m. reads incorrectly due to the misalignment of trip times. The Forest Service timepoint shows two departure times; the second time is for Timepoint 3. The remaining times for the trip should all be shifted to the right.</p>

				<title>Boeing Strike Reroute</title>
				<description>Rider Alert</description>
				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><span style="font-size: 12pt">Starting Monday, Sept. 8 and throughout the duration of the International Association of Machinists 751 strike, all Community Transit bus service to the Boeing-Everett plant will be rerouted off Boeing property. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt">During the strike, Community Transit Routes 177, 207, 227, 247, 277 and 280 will serve only two stops in the Boeing area. <a href="http://www.commtrans.org/news/images/rideralerts/BoeingStrikeAlternateStops.jpg">Click here for a map of the stops and afternoon pick-up times.</a></span></p>

				<title>Monroe Park &amp; Pool Changes</title>
				<description>Rider Alert</description>
				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The Monroe School District parking lot is no longer available for commuter parking&nbsp;as of&nbsp;July 25. The school district has warned people that cars may be towed if they continue to use the lot.</p>
<p>A new park &amp; pool is located at the Monroe Foursquare Church, 17310 W. Main Street. The new park &amp; pool is a few blocks west of the current lot.</p>
<p>Community Transit has leased 30 spots&nbsp;at the church for&nbsp;weekday parking.</p>
<p>New bus stops nearby are served by Routes 271, 275 and 424.</p>]]></content:encoded>
